TRACE METALS

2026
Berlin
opening: Thu 10 Sep, 18h

As part of Berlin Art Week 2026, galerie burster presents TRACE METALS, an international group exhibition curated by Bram Braam and Stephen Burke.
Departing from the field of Post Vandalism, the exhibition brings together artistic positions that work with urban surfaces, material traces and the shifting meanings of public space. TRACE METALS follows the marks left behind in the city: fragments, repairs, erasures, barriers, gestures and residues that move from the street into painting, sculpture, installation and video.
The exhibition features works by Clemens Behr, Marc Bijl, Bram Braam, Stephen Burke, Cosimo Casoni, Rutger de Vries, Julia Eichler and Tabata von der Locht.
In Berlin, a city shaped by visible layers of graffiti, construction, protest and transformation, these traces carry a particular charge. The exhibition considers the city as a material archive, a place where social, political and bodily histories remain embedded in surfaces.
