There are 675 kilometers between the main building of the University of the Arts in Berlin and the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe. In this exhibition, the artworks and the participating young artists from the class of Prof. Valérie Favre (University of the Arts Berlin) and from the class of Prof. Tatjana Doll (State Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe) will bridge this distance, creating a connection between two significant sites of creative expression.
In a variety of formats, both large and small, and employing oil, acrylic, and watercolor, Nouri Almashhour, Linus Beckmann, Matthias Gmeiner, Hyejin Ha, Ivana Heckmanns, Josephine Rothäuser, Clara Vivian Stang, Mara Olschowka, Wei Xia, and Svenja Zewe illustrate, through their diverse artistic approaches, the ongoing emergence of visual-aesthetic and thematic con-nections in art—even across a geographical distance of 675 kilometers.
